They Shouldn't Mind
Do you want to know why I don’t mind poking fun at George Will? Because even experts like, Greg Mankiw, title posts, “The Cult of Utilitarians.” Apparently, people don’t just have a different philosophy, I mean; it’s really a cult when you think about it.
I like Greg Mankiw, but it would be best if you bet that I’ll call him out on whenever I see that kind of rhetoric. When “cult” is the term used, you immediately stop thinking about economic policy implications, and start equating progressive tax systems to Islamic Jihad. Cult, indeed.
Ironically, in terms of the real policy debate, I would like to experiment with a flat and national Value Added Tax (sales tax).
