That's on Me
I was giving serious consideration to becoming a CPA. I mean, I still am. But, I found out that they really need the concentration to be Accounting, not Finance. I'd have to take an another 8 (24 credit hours) of varied accounting courses.
The only other option that anyone has ever mentioned is writing / petitioning the state board of my experience and getting an exemption from them. On top of making an assumption that I'll pass the CPA exams. Which, those alone cost money.
It's actually that monetary figure that really gave me pause. Not just with paying to take courses and take the exam to be registered as a CPA - but, with the added cost of more college coursework to get those extra credits. If someone were to tell me of a further-skewed racial makeup regarding CPAs; I would most assuredly point them in this direction.
